Amanda Merritt
Headteacher and EYFS lead
Amanda has been a dedicated Headteacher for 10 years, passionately committed to the welfare of children in her community and the wider trust. During the 20 years at the school she successfully managed the school’s transition from a good infant school to a good primary school with outstanding features, where pupils flourish and adore their school. Amanda joined the trust in 2019.
With extensive experience in curriculum design, she ensures educational programs meet the diverse needs of her pupils. Amanda has undertaken school improvement work with a number of schools, in Surrey and other Local Authorities, empowering leaders to develop curriculum changes, improve outcomes and drive school improvement. She has mentored new Headteachers in various contexts.
A forward-thinking leader, Amanda prioritises the needs of children and families. She has embedded a shared understanding of core values, fostering a strong sense of belonging among our community, children, parents, and staff. Amanda is dedicated to supporting vulnerable families and promoting an inclusive school culture.
As a member of the Woking Schools Learning Partnership, Amanda contributes to leadership development and organises enrichment activities to enhance children’s cultural capital. She also serves as an active governor at a secondary school, with responsibility for SEND.
